1. What is virtual Web Hosting? - Top

We specialize in virtual web hosting, which means you can find a home for your web site on our high performance web servers and establish your presence on the Internet with your own unique domain name. 3. Do you offer dialup Internet access? - Top

No. We currently don't offer dialup access.

4. Do you offer web page design services? - Top

No. We currently don't offer Web Design Services, but check back soon for more information.

5. What is a virtual/true domain? - Top

A virtual/true domain is having your own domain name (http://www.your-name.com) without having to install expensive server hardware and software. With a virtual domain, you utilize our server's storage space, however, you are still professionally represented via your own personal Internet web address (www.your-name.com) and by your own personal email address (you@your-name.com). Having your own domain name enables you to maintain the same email address (you@your-name.com) even if you change Internet providers.

6. Do you offer Technical Support? - Top

Yes. We provide 24/7 support via our toll free number and email. We also provide a number of online training courses in HTML, FrontPage and Java, all in HTML and fully searchable. We also offer an extensive Support Manual along with a detailed Support FAQ to provide you with answers to all support queries immediately. The Support FAQ is constantly being updated and offers a searchable archive of all support-related queries.

7. What type of hardware are you using? - Top

For maximum reliability all our servers are custom-built using the best components currently available in the industry. Since there are constant improvements in the hardware industry, we ensure that we upgrade all our systems every 3-4 months, thereby providing you access to the latest machines equipped with fast processors and lots of memory and storage space.

8. What are your Network capabilities? - Top

You are hosted on our fiber optic network, which connects to the Internet through 1 OC3 and 3 redundant DS-3 multi-homed connections. This high-speed connectivity combined with exceptionally fast and reliable Dual Pentium III servers, guarantee fast access to all web sites housed within our network, and 99.9% uptime 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

9. How long does it take to set-up a new account? - Top

New accounts are set-up within 24 hours from the time we receive your order. Once your account is set-up, you will be emailed your Account Login information (User ID, Password & FTP hostname) along with some useful URLs to help you get started. You can immediately start uploading files to your new web site. Domain account users will be given a temporary URL to access their site via the web prior to the completion of either domain registration or domain modification.

10. Will I have unlimited access to my site for updates? - Top

Yes. You have unlimited access via FTP 24 hours a day 365 days a year. As such, you can create and maintain your web pages on your own computer and upload files to your web site at your leisure.

11. What Operating System and Server Software is being used? - Top

All our systems run a customized version of RedHat, using the powerful Apache Web Server and Apache SSL Server for secure transactions.

12. How do I transfer files to my web site? - Top

Files must be transferred to the web server via File Transport Protocol (FTP). Internet providers such as AOL, CompuServe, and Prodigy may have a built-in FTP interface. If you need FTP, Telnet, mail, or other Internet software, visit www.shareware.com. Shareware.com is a source for the latest Internet applications with ratings and reviews to help you decide which application is best suited for your needs. An FTP tutorial is also available for beginners who may not be familiar with FTP. Microsoft FrontPage users can "publish" their sites to our server and should not use FTP.

13. Do you maintain backups of my data? - Top

Yes. We backup your web directory daily on redundant hard drives installed on each of our hosting servers. You also have the option to backup your web files directly through your control panel

14. How can I tell how many visits my web site gets? - Top

Included FREE with every account is Analog Graphical Stats, a very powerful tool for graphically tracking visitors to your site. It provides you statistics on how long visitors were there, what pages they visited and the order in which they were visited. With the advanced logging feature activated it even captures what browser was being used and how the visitors found you, whether through a search engine or a web site link.

15. Can I upgrade my account? - Top

Yes. You can upgrade your account at any time. If you are upgrading to an account with the same level of set-up fees as your current account, we do not charge a set-up fee for the upgrade. But if you are upgrading to an account with a higher level of set-up fees than your current account, we only charge you the difference in the set-up fees.

16. Do you handle international orders? - Top

Yes. Our servers house domains for customers in countries worldwide and can host any valid domain name extension. If you are interested in foreign domain name registrations, we provide you with useful resources to help link you to most registration services around the world.

17. Can I add more disk space to my account? - Top

Yes. You may add additional disk space to your account by emailing support@fazter.com with your requirements. As a customer you are charged @ $0.15/1MB, and this must be purchased in 10MB increments.

18. What if I exceed my monthly transfer allowance? - Top

You will be notified by email ahead of time allowing you enough time to choose from our numerous Traffic Upgrade Levels. For traffic usage in excess of your monthly allowance, you will be billed @ $12/month for every additional 1GB used.

NOTE: Sometimes domains exceed the bandwidth level allocated faster than our system can monitor. You will still be responsible for overage costs in this case.

19. Can I access my domain without the "www" in front? - Top

Yes. You will be able to access your domain address with or without the "www" in front of the domain name. Example: [http://www.your-name.com] or [http://your-name.com] is acceptable, whichever you prefer.

20. What is Squirrel Mail? - Top

This is a commercial product for processing email from a web browser. This offers all the features of a regular email program with the flexibilty of being usable anywhere you have internet access and a browser.

21. Do I still get regular POP email boxes when I have Squirrel Mail? - Top

Yes. Each account also comes with a number of regular POP accounts that will allow you to pickup email with any standard email program like Netscape or Eudora.

22. Can I subdivide my space and resell it? - Top

Currently no. We will have a reseller plan in the near future

23. Can I host domains in the sub-directory of my main account? - Top

No.

24. Can I point additional domains to the same main page as my current domain? - Top

Yes. We can mirror your main web pages and mail system for a one time $25.00 set-up fee for each additional domain. This is a great way to expand the marketing of your present business.

25. Are third level domain names available? - Top

Yes. We can give you a third level domain name such as yourname.fazter.com or if you have an existing domain with us anyname.yourdomain.com. The biggest advantage here is that registration is not needed, therefore there are no registration fees involved.

26. What is the cost for additional logins? - Top

The following are one-time set-up fees:

  • POP @ $5.00/each
  • FTP/POP @ $10.00/each
  • Telnet/FTP/POP @ $20.00/each


27. Can I use my account for commercial purposes? - Top

Yes. You can use your account for commercial purposes. The World Wide Web has become the most efficient and cost-effective means of making information, products and services available to the users of the Internet community, and we provide our customers the necessary tools to develop a successful Internet business.

28. What is the difference between Majordomo and the subscribable maillists? - Top

The Subscribable maillists are a very simple to use way of building a e-mail list to make general announcements, such as specials, price drops, or a monthly newsletter.

Majordomo is a highly interactive full featured program that allows every one subscribed to the list to interact and post to the list. Its fully designed to automate the management of Internet mailing lists. Commands are sent to Majordomo via electronic mail to handle all aspects of list maintenance. Once a list is set up, virtually all operations can be performed remotely, requiring no intervention upon the postmaster of the list site.


29. Can I compile programs written in C and C++? - Top

Yes, if the account you choose includes Telnet access. The standard gcc compiler is used.


30. Will Server Side Includes (SSI) work on your servers? - Top

Yes. SSI's will parse on any page ending in .sht or .shtml.
